Procedure to Initialize MyVoice Recorder model 9016su/9033su

Warning: Once you reformat the voice recorder, the files cannot be recovered. If you want to keep your recording files, back them up to your pc before reformatting.

Solution 1

• Turn on the recorder
• Press the “menu” button 9 times until you get to the memory/version number screen (Ex. “32M-V:11”)
• Press and hold the “ERASE” button for 5 seconds until “FAst-for” is displayed
• Press the “MENU” button (“RESEt” is displayed)
• Press the jog dial in (“No” is displayed)
• Push the jog dial up/down to select “YES”
• Press the jog dial in to reset the recorder
• All characters on the LCD will light up
• The display will clear and show the format % from (10, 20, 30… 100)
• The display will flash “Init”, “Check” and the recorder will power off
• The recorder is now reset

If you able to connect the recorder to a PC, you can follow the steps below.

Solution 2

• Turn the recorder on
• Be sure that the recorder is in USB mode (pg. 22)
• Connect the voice recorder to your PC
• Turn on the voice recorder
• Startup the DVR-008/DVRM software
• On the menu under “VoiceRecorder” select “Initialize”
• Do not disconnect the recorder until it is finished

If neither of the above procedures work, try the following:

Solution 3

• Open the battery cover
• Press and hold the “menu” and “record” buttons while closing the battery cover.
• Continue to hold “menu” and “record” until “—load—“ is displayed on the screen
• Once “load” is displayed, continue to hold for 10 seconds.
• Once you release the buttons, the recorder will turn off
• Press “record” to turn on the recorder
• Press “menu” once
• Hold erase until you see “Fast-for”
• Select “yes” with the jog dial
• The recorder is now reset
